As Avonmouth OB RFC prepare for life in South West 2 plenty has been happening in the close season.

In June the club announced the arrival of Joe ElAbd and Sean Marsden as part of the new coaching team. Club chairman Steve Leyshon commented “ I am thrilled to welcome Joe and Sean as part of the new coaching set up at the club. They will work very closely with head coach Wayne Hone and will bring their undoubted skills and knowledge to the training field. This is a great coup for Avonmouth and shows the ambitions we have”.

Training has been underway since June and the club won the recent ELV Bristol Combination Tournament held at the Portway Centre on the 2^nd August.

Pre season trials take place at Worcester 16^th August and at home to Hornets (Tuesday 19^th August) and home to Bristol Saracens (Saturday 30^th August).

September fixtures are as follows:

• Saturday 6^th September Clevedon (A) Combination Cup
• Saturday 13^th September Paignton (H) League
• Saturday 20^th September Brixham (A) League
• Saturday 27^th September Sidmouth (H) League
