AVONMOUTH WIN OPENING ELV TOURNAMENT
The season kicked off at the ELV tournament on Saturday 2nd August at the Portway Centre.
In the morning club chairman Steve Leyshon gave a presentation to the Bristol Combination coaches and referees on the new ELVs. With over 100 people attending the morning session went well with some lively debate.
At the end Steve was presented with the Bristol Combination Len Robson award for services to the Bristol Rugby Combination. It was a proud moment and is recognition of the club as a whole.
In the afternoon a round robin tournament took place involving Avonmouth, Old Reds, Cirencester, Keynsham and St Marys. The boys played some good rugby and with us, Reds and Cirencester all tied on 6 points the Mouth won by the slimmest of margins with a points difference of +35 against +34 for Cierencester.
Well done to all the guys and now lets’ get stuck in to the rest of the pre season training and fixtures.
There is a big season ahead for all the teams!!!
